Kevin D. Clark, A.P. founded Tong Ren Herbs in 1988 a full service Chinese herbal pharmacy and national distributer of Chinese herbal medicine products, the Community School of Traditional Chinese Healthcare in 1990, a four academic year, comprehensive Chinese medicine program and the Community Clinic in 1990, a low income community clinic. Also as part of the schools community outreach he established the South Shore Acupuncture Clinic funded by Ryan White at South Shore Hospital, a comprehensive HIV and AIDS acupuncture and herbal medicine clinic as a part of the student clinic. Additionally he co-founded in 1991, with Andrew Ellis, South Mountain Herbs which was the exclusive distributor of KPC Products concentrated powdered extracts in the United States.
As a part of the Community Schools public outreach he co-founded Acufest “A Festival of Acupuncture and Chinese Healthcare” featuring 35 or more mini-workshops, demonstrations and exhibits given by local, national and international presenters of Chinese medicine, martial arts, homeopathy and women’s healthcare for the lay public. It was held at the Broward Convention Center in ’92,’93 and ’94. It was attended by one thousand participants at the ’94 event and brought together many of the Chinese medicine and natural healthcare resources from Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
